Once complete, University District in Calgary’s northwest will span 200 acres, including 40 acres of open space, 15,000 residents, 1.5 million square feet of office space and 300,000 square feet of retail along nine blocks.

The Land Lease

UCPG will offer leases to developers on parcels for a pre-paid 99-year term. The lease is in the form of prepaid rent, meaning it is a one-time upfront payment for the term. At the end of the lease term, there will be an option to negotiate an extension or terminate. If the lease terminates UCPG will pay the leaseholder fair market value for the residence which sits on the land. Residential opportunities may be advertised through a Request for Proposal process.
