Our
Process

Accomplishing Our Goals

Our approach is collaborative, transparent, and respectful. We learn from each other and are innovative in our process.

Together, we harness the engine of ideas that is the University, the experience of local residents, and the entrepreneurial spirit that is characteristic of Calgary to create a community that is future-focused with a strong sense of place.

We aim to accomplish our goal of creating truly amazing places by collaborating with partners who are leaders in their fields. This approach champions an openness to hearing diverse perspectives and a commitment to open proactive communication. We believe that collaboration is key in creating a plan that captures the opportunities of the land while incorporating the values and priorities of stakeholders. To us, being change-makers means constantly innovating to push the boundaries and challenge the norm.

A People First Approach

Our decision-making has always, and will always be focused on putting people first. This thoughtful design, collaboration, inclusiveness, and proactive approach allows us to work towards our goal of building amazing places where Calgarians can thrive financially, economically, and environmentally.

We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with our stakeholders, partners, and communities whenever such opportunities arise. While this group is continually changing and evolving, our dedication to putting people first does not waver. We combine an iterative planning process with stakeholder engagement.

Master Plan

Through the combined input of the stakeholder working group and ongoing public engagement, the Master Plan for University District is a plan built through the community. We followed a number of steps to finalize the Master Plan, receive approvals, and move forward on implementation:

  • Consulting with stakeholders to update the Master Plan
  • Submitting an outline plan and land use application to the City of Calgary
  • Completing the subdivision process (in phases)
  • Marketing the land to builder partners
  • Applying for permits for municipal development and construction permits

If you’re interested in partnering with a collaborative, growing organization, connect with us. We are curating our retail main street where there will be availability for both retail and office tenants. Opportunities also exist for builders of residential projects and these sites may be advertised through a Request for Proposals process.
