University District Night Market Returns with Unique Local Vendors and Entertainment

The annual series of night markets will take place all summer long on the last Wednesday of each month from May until September.

University District will be hosting the first of the U/D Night Market events on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. This free outdoor event will feature more than 35 local artisan vendors in partnership with Marketspot, while offering unique entertainment for the entire family to enjoy. The U/D Night Market will take place all summer long on the final Wednesday of each month until September in Central Commons Park, a 3-acre park located in the heart of the community. Each U/D Night Market will feature a unique set of live music and entertainment
along with a variety of vendors.

What: A community gathering for entertainment and artisan shopping. Browse through a selection of more than 35 local artisan vendors and enjoy musical performances by Notas de 4, an award-winning six-piece music ensemble. Other performances at this event will include The Snow Circus Variety Show, which combines juggling, balance artistry and comedy and musician Kearstin Pfeifer, known for blending folk melodies with bluegrass stylings.

Where: Central Commons Park at University District between Borough Bar + Grill and The Banquet Bar.

When: Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 5 to 9 p.m.

5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.: Joash Charles
6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: Kearstin Pfeifer
7:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: The Snow Circus Variety Show
8:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.: The Snow Circus Playshop
8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: Notas de 4

Who: Spokespeople from University District will be on-site and available for media interviews between 5 to 7 p.m.

The 2023 U/D Night Market attracted hundreds of attendees to University District for shopping local vendors and free entertainment.

Parking: University District offers free two-hour surface lots and a free three-hour underground parkade. License plates must be registered at one of the Calgary Parking Authority machines located at each lot and the parkade. Additional parking will be available on the streets.
