University District is Hosting Another Free Winter Pop-Up Event This Sunday

Celebrate the best of winter in the city with a live sledge hockey demonstration, s’mores roasting, music by DJ GOODBAR and more at University District’s February Winter Pop-Up event.

University District (U/D) will host another free outdoor Winter Pop-Up Event on February 18, 2024, bringing the community together for fun, festive winter activities.

What: The Winter Pop-Up is free and invites Calgarians and visitors of all ages to enjoy an array of entertainment and celebrate the winter season. Attendees can enjoy a live sledge hockey demonstration in partnership with AdaptAbility and the Stratz Strong Foundation, free s’mores roasting kits (while supplies last) and live music by DJ GOODBAR. Guests are invitedto bring their own skates and enjoy a spin on University District’s refrigerated outdoor ice-skating rink. Along with its cozy fire features, the ice rink will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: University District at Central Commons Park nestled between Borough Bar + Grill and The Banquet.

When: Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 1-4 p.m.

Who: This event will be open to the general public and free to attend. Spokespeople from University District will be on-site and available for media interviews from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Experience the magic of winter with free outdoor activities and demonstrations.

Parking: University District offers free two-hour surface lots and a free three-hour underground parkade. License plates must be registered at one of the Calgary Parking Authority machines
located at each lot and the parkade. Additional parking will be available on the streets.
