Embrace the Season: University District’s Free Winter Pop-Up Event is Back
Get outside this winter and enjoy live ice carving, s’mores roasting, music by DJ GOODBAR and more at University District’s Winter Pop-Up event.
University District (U/D) will host a free Winter Pop-Up on January 28, 2024, bringing the community together for fun, festive winter activities. This event will take place outside Central Commons Park with added entertainment that attendees of all ages can enjoy.
What: The Winter Pop-Up will bring together individuals of all ages to enjoy an array of entertainment and celebrate the winter season. Attendees can expect live ice carving demonstrations from sculpturist Julian Lee, free s’mores roasting kits while supplies last and live music by DJ GOODBAR. Guests are invited to bring their own skates and enjoy a spin around University District’s free ice-skating rink. Along with its cozy fire features, the ice rink will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: University District at Central Commons Park nestled between Borough Bar + Grill and The Banquet.
When: Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1-4 p.m.
Who: This event will be open to the general public and free to attend. Spokespeople from University District will be on-site and available for media interviews.
Attendees can experience the magic of winter with live ice-carving demonstrations by Julian Lee
Parking: University District offers free two-hour surface lots and a free three-hour underground parkade. License plates must be registered at one of the Calgary Parking Authority machines located at each lot and the parkade. Additional parking will be available on the streets.
