Free Fun for Everyone: University District’s Annual Block Party is Back
The U/D Block Party returns and will feature live music from The Brasstactics, giant inflatables and fun activities for all ages.
University District will host its third outdoor annual Block Party on September 17, 2023 from 1-4 p.m. to celebrate the growth of Retail Main Street, which is now home to more than 30 retailers, businesses and services since launching in 2020. This free public event will be taking place outdoors along Retail Main Street on University Avenue between Smith Street NW and McCaig Street NW.
The U/D Block Party will feature front-door activations from participating retailers, roving live music from The Brasstactics and a plethora of fun activities for families to enjoy.

What: University District’s annual free Block Party featuring live music, activities and more. The U/D Block Party will include activations from the community’s retailers as well as free fun activities including face painting, balloon twisting, giant inflatables, roaming performers and a lego building booth.
Where: University District Retail Main Street at University Avenue NW, between Smith Street NW and McCaig Street NW.
When: Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 1-4 p.m.
Who: The event is open to the general public and free for people of all ages to attend. There will be featured performances from the Brasstactics.
Parking: University District offers free two-hour surface lots and a free three-hour underground parkade. License plates must be registered at one of the Calgary Parking Authority machines located at each lot and the parkade.
Select University District retailers will also be participating in the event with special promotions and contests.
