University District’s Free Community Winter Pop-Up Event is Back

The Winter Pop-Up events invite Calgarians to head outside this winter for ice skating, s’mores roasting, beats by DJ GOODBAR and more.
University District (U/D) is hosting its free Winter Pop-Up on Sunday, January 26, 2025, and Sunday, February 16, 2025, bringing Calgarians together at Central Commons Park for a variety of free winter entertainment.
What: The Winter Pop-Up brings together people of all ages to enjoy an array of entertainment. Attendees can grab free s’mores roasting kits and enjoy live music by DJ GOODBAR. Guests can also skate on University District’s ice rink, either with their own skates or by renting a pair from Skate Hut on-site. Each Winter Pop-Up will offer a unique highlight. On January 26, local artist Julian Lee will perform live ice carving demonstrations. On February 16, U/D retailer AdaptAbility, will host sledge hockey demonstrations, a fun and educational activity showcasing the importance of adaptive sports.

When: Sunday, January 26, 2025, and Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 1 – 4 pm.
Who: Spokespeople from University District will be on-site and available for media interviews and b-roll opportunities between 1 and 2:30 pm.
