Calgarians to Celebrate Family Day at University District’s Community Winter Pop-Up This Weekend

The final Winter Pop-Up of the year, attendees can take their try at sledge hockey, along with other free activities and entertainment.

University District (U/D) is hosting its final Winter Pop-Up of the year on Sunday, February 16, 2025, bringing Calgarians together for the Family Day long weekend at Central Commons Park.

What: The Winter Pop-Up brings together people of all ages to enjoy an array of entertainment. Attendees can grab free s’mores for roasting, while supplies last, and enjoy live music by DJ GOODBAR. Guests can also skate on University District’s ice rink, either with their own skates or by renting a pair from Skate Hut on-site. U/D retailer AdaptAbility, will also be providing the opportunity for people to participate in a sledge hockey demonstration, a fun and educational activity showcasing the importance of adaptive sports.

Where: University District at Central Commons Park, nestled between Borough Bar + Grill and The Banquet. A Google Maps link to this event’s location is here for easy access.

When: Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 1 – 4 pm.

Who: Spokespeople from both University District and AdaptAbility will be on-site and available for media interviews and b-roll opportunities between 1 and 2:30 pm.
