The University of Calgary Properties Group (“UCPG”) is seeking an individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and experience in project administration in land and community development projects, to support our ambitious projects.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, the Development Coordinator will assist in delivering University District and University Innovation Quarter projects from planning to construction completion. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Project Administration:
    • Estimate project costs and monitor budgets for deviations.
    • Coordinate and track vendor contracts, process invoices and change orders, and maintain accurate project files and documentation.
    • Attend site, consultant, and scheduling meetings.
    • Prepare project correspondence, meeting minutes, and status reports.
  • Construction Oversight:
    • Oversee Construction Completion Certificates (CCCs) and Final Acceptance Certificates (FACs) for active projects.
    • Conduct onsite assessments and inspections of site improvements.
    • Monitor site appearance and cleanliness to ensure compliance with project and community standards.
    • Review and ensure the quality and completeness of designs, drawings, and specifications.
    • Coordinate project activities with budgets and schedules.
  • Budget and Contract Management:
    • Assist the Senior Development Manager with invoice coding, budget management, and contract control.
    • Identify opportunities for schedule and budget optimizations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with the Marketing, Communications, Construction, Property Management, and Real Estate teams to create and manage stakeholder communication plans.
    • Respond to inquiries, concerns, and complaints from community residents, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Other Duties:
    • Support miscellaneous tasks as required to meet project and organizational objectives.
